Product Reviews: Ozark Trail Rockwell Sandals - cole county blues

For some reason shoe shopping is just something we put off for as long as possible, but sometimes we have to give in. Since trying to stick to a budget is one of our goals, we always try to price shop hoping to find a good value. Paying more isn't always the answer.

We had some experience with the Ozark Trail brand before and found it to be a relative safe purchase. While not lasting forever it seemed that the brand could at least hold up through the season.

Pros

The very comfortable and lightweight shoe looks good and fits even contrary feet. This pair was in a nice dark color and looked masculine without appearing overly large on the feet. No blistering took place. An affordable price is always appealing and depending upon your income level can make a final decision on whether or not to purchase. At $17.97 we thought these looked sturdy enough to last through the summer, especially since they would really not be worn in the river.

Cons

We were wrong. The shoes were purchased the second week of May 2013 and fell apart before the end of the month. ?Of course they broke while away from home and there was no recourse but to wear the shoe broken. The strapping ripped all the way in two near the sole in the back outside of the shoe. The sole is barely worn ?and the shoes still look new. After inspection it was determined the other straps were well on their way to total deterioration. For some unknown reason I can't find a receipt but Walmart is usually good about returns.

There is no Ozark Trail website as all links lead to either Walmart, complaint boards about this brand or to the Ozark Trail project. The only way I feel I could recommend this shoe is if you were disabled wheelchair user and would only be wearing the shoe for appearance and comfort.

If you really cannot afford anything else at the moment this shoe will be comfortable and look good during its short life.
