Violet Lim is a successful young businesswoman who, with her husband Lee, founded the first online speed-dating site and professional lunch dating agency in Asia. Outside her working environment, however, she plays the traditional role of a wife and mother, even sharing her parents-in-law?s Singapore home ? a common occurrence if the marriage is to the family?s first son. Violet is one of the growing number of women in the Far East who are proving it?s possible to balance a modern career with a traditional family lifestyle.

The three storey, traditionally built bungalow is inhabited by four generations of the same family, with the youngest taught from an early age to respect and cherish their beautiful home. Decorated in Oriental Balinese style, it houses more than 100 antiques, collected by Lee?s grandfather and parents. Ranging from porcelain vases to antique cabinets, a Lancashire visitor would feel totally at home here, as there?s a chinoiserie feel reminiscent of the Oriental inspired furniture made in Europe from the 17th Century onwards.
